Тhe 21st archaeological season has begun at the prehistoric salt-production and urban center of Provadia-Solnitsata
With great excitement and renewed energy, we want to share that we have launched the 21st archaeological season of the prehistoric archaeological complex Provadia-Solnitsata. Ready for new discoveries and even more interesting artifacts, we invite you to visit us and get acquainted with the history of the oldest salt-producing and urban center in Europe. From the talk presented by our tour guide, you will learn why salt was called the "white gold" of antiquity, how salt production originated, what stages it went through, and why the first fortification systems that you will surely see when you visit, arose.
Visits are possible every day from Monday to Saturday, with tours starting every round hour from 09.00 to 13.00 inclusive. Given the high temperatures and summer weather conditions, we ask you to bring a hat and enough drinking water. It is recommended to wear comfortable shoes to make your visit as pleasant as possible.
If you have any questions, you can contact us on our Facebook page or on the following phones: 0895431974 – Georgi; 0896990242 – Violeta.
