European Archaeology Days

14.06.2026г.

The European Archaeology Days are an international initiative aimed at promoting archaeological heritage and bringing archaeology closer to the general public. As part of the event, museums, archaeological sites, and cultural institutions across Europe organize exhibitions, lectures, demonstrations, educational activities, and special programmes for visitors of all ages. From 12 to 14 June 2026, Provadia-Solnitsata will take part in the initiative, offering visitors the opportunity to discover the history of Europe's oldest prehistoric salt-production centre. On the first day of the event (12 June 2026), the poster exhibition "The Lords of Salt" will be opened at the Municipal Art Gallery in Provadia. Throughout all three European Archaeology Days, Provadia-Solnitsata will welcome visitors on site. Specially for the occasion, a game for young artefact hunters has been prepared, inviting children to explore the fascinating world of archaeology through play. An online game for children will also be organаized on Facebook. It will take place during the week immediately preceding the event and will continue throughout the European Archaeology Days.
