Stoyan Trifonov

Stoyan Trifonov was born in the town of Provadia. In 2004, he earned a Bachelor's degree in History from Konstantin Preslavsky University of Shumen. In 2006, he obtained a Master's degree in Archaeology, and between 2006 and 2008 he completed a Master's program in Restoration and Conservation at the same university. Since May 2006, he has been working as a curator and head of the Archaeology Department at the Historical Museum of Provadia. His research focuses on the study of stone fortification systems during the Late Prehistory.
Since 2006, he has been a member of the research team excavating the earliest salt-production and urban center in Europe – Provadia-Solnitsata. He has also taken part in numerous rescue excavations across Bulgaria, as well as in field surveys of archaeological remains in the region of Provadia. He is co-author of scholarly and popular publications related to Provadia-Solnitsata and has contributed to several projects funded by the Ministry of Culture, aimed at the development of the collections and exhibitions of the Historical Museum in Provadia.
